In 2011, the award-winning duo of Frederic Brremaud and Federico Bertolucci released LOVE: THE TIGER, a wordless wildlife adventure following a lone tiger through a particularly frustrating day. Meant as a fun experiment in storytelling (with the embedded intention of raising awareness for Tiger conservation), it was met with overwhelming praise and attention worldwide. Its success prompted the follow-up LOVE: THE FOX, LOVE: THE LION, and LOVE: THE DINOSAUR, each telling an exciting tale focused on the titular character. LOVE: THE MASTIFF is the latest addition to the collection.

The series has won numerous awards including and starred reviews, including multiple Eisner Award nominations and a Gold Medal for Best Graphic Novel from the Independent Publishers Awards.
